    CHIROPRACTIC FAQ

  • Why do chiropractors take x-rays?

X-rays are taken for many different reasons but are not always required. At Aspen Creek Chiropractic we will first perform an exam and if your condition indicates, we will recommend that x-ray’s be taken. Since x-rays can also reveal other hidden problems, we would be happy to discuss their advantages even if your condition does not indicate an immediate need.

X-rays will reveal the internal structure and alignment of the spine. X-rays can also reveal other disorders of the spine such as arthritis, disc disorders and abnormal spinal conditions to name a few.

Although some chiropractors use older “single phase” x-ray systems, our office uses modern “high frequency” x-ray equipment which greatly reduces radiation exposure to the patient while increasing the clarity of the x-ray for the doctor. No matter what x-ray system is used, the benefits of having them taken far outweigh the risks of the low radiation exposure.
